A little about me.

About Melissa Alyse

Hi, I’m Melissa Alyse—a grace-soaked Christian fiction author who never expected to be a writer... but here I am, telling one faith-filled story at a time.

I grew up in church, but the summer after seventh grade is when I truly met Jesus for myself. I was filled with a joy I still can’t quite describe—and it’s never left me. That joy has carried me through every season, including 26 sweet years of marriage to the love of my life, raising two precious kiddos and, most recently, the start of our empty nest chapter.

When our kids left home, my husband and I asked God, What’s next?
His answer: Alaska.

So we packed up, followed His lead, and began a brand-new adventure. Two years in, we’re still loving the beauty, stillness, and sweet pace being where He has called us.

How I Got Here

I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a writer—or even much of a reader, to be honest. But when our kids reached middle school, we’d spend Sunday afternoons at the library. We’d scour the shelves for just the right books, and that’s where I discovered clean romance and Christian fiction. I fell in love with the genre—especially the Love Finds You series and anything by Debbie Macomber.

Eventually, I went looking for a very specific story… and couldn’t find it.

So, I started writing it myself. That’s how Sammy’s story was born—way back in 2012. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I knew I loved the world I was creating.

I set it down for a while (okay, years), but in 2024 I picked it back up and finished it as a birthday gift to myself. To my surprise? I still loved it. With a little encouragement—and a lot of prayer—A Place to Belong became my debut novel, published in June 2025.

The Life I'm Living Now

Now, I spend my days writing books full of grace, surrounded by the most wonderful reader community, and following where He leads, one story at a time.

If you’re looking for a story that feels like a front porch conversation that is cozy, heartfelt, and full of grace, you are welcome here. Always.
